Stretch Goals

Feeling icky and don't know where to start? I suggest stretching. These are 5 good stretches to start the day which you hold for 15-30 seconds:

Tri stretch
Groin stretch
Ham stretch
Quad stretch
Lat stretch

Groin: place elbows on knees to push towards the floor. You will feel it in your inner thighs.

Hamstring: traditionally done lying on the floor. You raise your leg out and gently bend your knee - you should feel it in the back of your thigh.

Quadriceps: can also do this lying down. Key is to pull leg back towards your butt. You will feel it in the front of the thigh.

Triceps: this cat should be holding the opposite elbow so it feels the stretch on the side of the arm.

Latissimus: you can hold the hands together to create a more tight arch and you will feels it all along your side of the body that is stretching.

It is amazing how often stretching is overlooked in fitness. Increased flexibility and range of motion are just some of the benefits. If you don't know where to start when it comes to exercise, then start stretching.
